Free or Cheap Volunteer Work in Uruguay

We have spent a whole day in Uruguay, popping across on the ferry from Buenos Aires, but if you want to stay for a bit longer then volunteer work is a good way to do so.

Grassroots Volunteering in Uruguay

The organisations listed below have either got in touch with us to add their details to this or another of our websites, or we otherwise have reason to believe they are actively looking for international volunteers and charge reasonable or no fees to join in, live and work with them:

Karumbé

www.karumbe.org

Volunteers are required to help with capturing and caring for sick Green turtles, research, cooking and cleaning. You should be in good physical condition and able to swim. It is not necessary to speak Spanish; however candidates are encouraged to know at least the basics. The site is in Spanish but their volunteer page is also in English.

Where: Carro Verde.
Accommodation & Costs: A small daily fee is required for food and accommodation.
